Tennessee oval platter |
The final pattern created by Nancy Patterson Lamb before the closing of Iron Mountain Stoneware was called Tennessee. All the stoneware items found in this pattern were hand glazed and painted solely by Nancy.
Her signature on the reverse side of these similar pieces was also different--it displayed as if she had swiped a glaze on the back, then etched her signature, removing the glaze back to the base color.

There are few of these pieces 'out in the wild' as the pattern was not produced for a long period of time. I didn't discover the pattern existed until this month actually (July, 2015) and was thrilled to find several pieces of it locally with a collector. Upon a recent visit with Nancy and her daughter Katie, we were discussed favorite patterns. Katie said that her favorite pattern changed from time to time, but currently it was Tennessee. My eyes widened as I thought I had missed a pattern somewhere along the way simply due to my descriptions here not matching the number of patterns I had heard existed. The mystery is now solved.
