Almanac and Yellow Almanac

Almanac fruit bowl and covered butter dish
Almanac is brown and gray--with what appears to be some different vegetable designs and vegetable names included in the underglaze of pieces like this fruit bowl and covered butter dish. These items were in a private collection and the butter dish was currently being used for butter when I snapped the photograph. During the summer of 2015 I was lucky enough to purchase a soup bowl and a pie plate which Nancy Lamb considers to be the only one ever made!  Some of the larger pieces had some old almanac 'sayings' on them, like what is seen on the interior of this piece.

Pie plate in Almanac pattern--possibly the only one that exists

Salad Plate
I own a single piece of Yellow Almanac--the candle-holder pictured below.  The Yellow Almanac is a golden and brown glaze--the candleholder has what appears to be pea vines on it.  Both are unusual, hand decorated collections.  The lid pictured below was listed as an auction item with the owner stating she had spoken with Nancy Patterson Lamb who had told her that only ten of these casseroles had been made--so this lid was a rare piece of the stoneware.
